Claiming a goal
How to tell your company you hit your target so the units are released.
Employee portalQuarterly review
If part of your plan is tied to a goal, the units do not release on their own. You submit a claim, your admin reviews it, and approved claims add units to your earned total.
What your goal looks like#
A goal is one of two kinds, and the screen tells you which.
- A number to reach
- Something measurable, such as reaching 90 percent of orders entered directly. You enter where you got to.
- A yes or no
- Something that either happened or did not, such as completing a certification. You answer Yes or No.
Submitting#
- 1Open Quarterly review. Your current goal and target are at the top.
- 2Enter your result, or answer Yes or No.
- 3Add a short note. Say what you did, and mention anything that got in the way. This is what your admin reads first.
- 4Select Submit. The status becomes Submitted and your admin is notified.
Tip. Be specific in the note. A claim with real detail is far easier to approve than a bare number, especially if you came close rather than landing exactly on target.
After you submit#
| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Submitted | With your admin, not yet reviewed. |
| Approved | Accepted. The units are added to your earned total. |
| Partially approved | Some units released, usually because you came close. The note explains. |
| Declined | Not accepted this period. The note explains, and the goal usually carries into the next period. |
You are emailed on any change, and the result appears on this screen with your admin's note.
If the quarter is closed#
Once a period has been reviewed, no new claim can be added to it. The screen tells you when the next one opens. Nothing has gone wrong, and nothing you submitted has been lost.
Note. Missing a goal does not take units away. It means those particular units were not released this time.
