Writing a post#

  1. 1Select New post.
  2. 2Enter a title. The web address is generated from it, and you can edit it by hand. Keep it short and readable.
  3. 3Write the post, or draft it from a topic and edit what comes back.
  4. 4Upload a cover image. It appears on the blog and anywhere the post is shared.
  5. 5Save as a draft, then publish when you are happy.

Drafting from a topic#

Give it a short topic and it returns a full draft in the Longpass voice. Treat it as a first draft, never a finished one. Read every line, check every claim, and cut anything that sounds like filler.

Careful. Never publish a generated draft unread. It can state things about the product that are not true, and a blog post is public the moment it goes live.

House style#

  • No emojis anywhere in published content.
  • Plain English. If a sentence needs reading twice, rewrite it.
  • Say the useful thing early. Nobody reaches paragraph six.
  • Do not name customers without their permission in writing.

Drafts and publishing#

Drafts are invisible to the public and can sit as long as you like. Publishing puts the post on the blog immediately. Unpublishing removes it from the blog and keeps the content.
